Webinar: Strengthening Civil Society’s Role in Resilient Health Systems
February 23, 2022
On February 17, 2022, NPI EXPAND and USAID’s Bureau for Global Health hosted another webinar in their joint ‘Local Capacity Development & Global Health Webinar Series’ to explore how civil society supports more resilient health systems through the strengthening of their health workforce and community health workers (CHWs).
Speakers highlighted their unique experiences supporting local health systems and delivering community-led health initiatives through CHWs. They also underscored the unique positioning of civil society to shape policy, improve human resources for health, and create strong linkages with communities to improve health outcomes. The panel featured speakers from Health Connect Jamaica, Wandikweza Malawi, Lwala Community Alliance Kenya, Health Care Accreditation Council Jordan, and a Community Health Worker in Kenya.
This is the fourth webinar in a year-long series (2021-2022) of webinars on local capacity development (LCD) and global health. The series brings together USAID and international and local implementing partners to provide a collaborative learning platform to facilitate discussions across regions and countries on best practices, challenges, and current trends in LCD and global health.
