NPI EXPAND Experience with Indirect Cost Recovery
An NPI EXPAND Learning Question Paper

As part of the project’s learning agenda, the New Partnerships Initiative EXPAND: New Partners for Better Health (NPI EXPAND) conducted a study among select project sub-recipients to understand how the adoption of the minimum 10 percent rate for indirect costs improves management capacity and resource diversification for local partners receiving NPI EXPAND subawards. Indirect cost recovery is a critical element of financial resource mobilization and sustainability for local organizations, and this study seeks to explore the experience of local partners engaged through the project on this topic.

NPI EXPAND hosted a webinar in June 2024 featuring panelists from local partners and USAID to discuss the topic of indirect cost recovery. Watch the event recording here.
